Don't laugh there is a root of true to this stretched tall tale.
Gelded moose used to be used similar to oxen in Scandinavian Counties for logging.
The Swedes fill their private and public pools and hot tubes with good looking skinny dipping women as a normal matter of course. And we North Americans can't.
I would expect the Swedes could also convince a moose to work as a draft animal.
I've hunted moose and they are as curious as Guernsey Cattle. In fact tonight's supper is moose steak cooked as a roast in the slow cooker.
