Some newer monitors also have a built in degauss feature. If it does not there are some manual methods including using the drill and a magnet talked about earlier. It may not be the problem though if the whole screen is affected. I would lean toward the video card problem mentioned earlier. Hope this helps and as always your mileage may vary.
