Have a 2004 2500 HD Duramax and Allison and I love the truck for heavy hauling. Pull a 25 foot gooseneck and load 18000 lbs of tractors and weights and go up over the Mountain pass and can hold 52 mph. Transmission temps stay at 180-190 and the thing will stay there and lug all day long. Get about 13 mpg loaded, never checked it empty. My dad delivers travel trailers in U.S. and Canada and has a 2002 Duramax with 270,000 and just changed the injectors at 210,000, Of the 8 trucks he has pulled with you would have to pry this one away from him with a big bar. Plans to run it to 400k and then trade it for a new one unless he retires first. With the GM trucks you get the power train plus an awesome smooth ride and quiet cab. Migraine
