I'm quite tickled to find out my adopted mixed up black lab is gun shy. I don't dare let her out of the fenced in back yard or she heads right for the road. Even though she's been hit by a car once, she has no respect for them. When she takes off there's no calling her back and to try and catch her is like trying to catch the wind. Once during buck season she got out and took off, a neighbor was in the woods along side the house and got his buck. Along comes old Lucy dog on a dead run for the house and couldn't get in fast enough. Now if she gets out I get out the 12 gage and pop a shot or 2 into the woods. She's usually waitin' at the door.
