Yeah, I normally never take a steel-tracked machine on snow or ice. I've got four crawlers - all put away for the winter. But . . . I got brave and took out the 1010 as a last resort - and I was pretty careful (a bit worried too). I've taken some wild sideways rides - and it didn't matter if they were flat loader pads or high-grouser dozer pads. When I worked for Deere, we used to install special high-headed ice-bolts every other pad that helped quite a bit.
