One of the first rules of settling into country property is not to change the land usage in the first year of ownership. Your new neighbours will respect that.

A tractor is a neat thing to have, but don't take on big tasks for it until you and it are ready. If someone is already taking the hay, stick with that system until improvements suggest themselves.
