You're spot on with the valve. So I shan't mess with it. Yes I know it's wy too big for the system but the price was nice (came with the tractor).
Pump is 60's GM as far as I can tell, cast iron pulley with integral reservoir. Part of the reason I'm redoing this (other than all the leaks and boogered up engineering) is that when the fluid gets hot the expansion overflowed the integral reservoir (giving the entire side of the tractor and the valves a bath). I'm going to add a square tubing reservoir to the system, and replace much of the hose with steel hard linse to help in heat dissapation.
I'm looking to run a single 2 1/2 x 8 double acting cylinder or at most a 3 x 12 double acting. Originally had a 4x16 on it which was way more than needed. Don't need a ton of speed, mostly used on a front mounted grader blade, and perhaps I'll make a little 3 point for it. So mostly it's frequent small changes.
I'll try to get the crud off the regulator but so far I haven't been able to find any identifying marks.
