Bob, If you can find the end of the pipe where it is frozen and chip some of the ice from the end of the pipe then hook up the garden hose with a straight nozzle that allows you to go from a spray to a stream under pressure and start spraying it at the end of the pipe. Water will erode the ice and as it is dissipated you can continue to push the hose in the pipe. It may take a while to get to the end of the ice dam but you will get there. If you want to be more aggressive hook the garden hose to the end of a pipe that has a cap with an eighth inch hole drilled in the end of the cap. That way you can slam the pipe into the ice and it help break up some of the ice while the water is "melting" the ice. Hope you get it thawed. Bud
