Like everyone else said, more surface area on your sacrificial scrap will help. If your sacrificial scrap has a lot of rust on the survace, I've found that it helps to take a wire brush or grinder and remove some of the rust. It's not necessary, but it does help start the process. I also notice that a "new" (clean) tank takes a little longer go get going. Be sure that you have minimal space between your sacrifical piece and the piece you want to clean, but don't let them touch. This will probably trip your charger's reset and then you will not get any current at all until you manually push the reset or it resets itself, depending on how your charger is made. An automatic charger should still work fine. Might add some more washing soda and plug it in and wait for a couple of hours and see if the process starts working. Once you get the hang of it, you will have something in the tank all the time.
