Another advantage of a dually over a single rear wheel is stability. For instance, many people with heavy truck campers prefer a dually for the side to side stablity. Especially when the loads center of gravity rides high, like it does with a camper. I guess it makes a big difference in reducing side to side swaying during cornering and windy conditions.

We had a mixed farm consisting of grain and dairy all done with old machinery and by hand.
