We almost had the same problem with PeoplePC.com! My wife talked with them and told them it sounded good, but to check with me when I got home from work. We live in a small town and it is hard to get internet service with a local number. When they called it was someone I could barely understand. Noone available who could speak fluent english. They told me they had a local number and a special deal for 3 months. I was almost ready to sign up, but then I thought maybe I should check their local access number to be sure. I was told they did not have this number on hand and could not give it to me. I told them I would not sign up until they gave me the local access number to verify. We went round-and-round for 30 minutes or so before I was so mad I hung up. Found out the next day there is no local access number from these &*%holes! As always, buyer beware!
