power stroke. codes

I'am looking for information,on where and what i need to get codes out of my ford f 250 diesel. I also what to use this on larger IH trucks we have.Do i need a palm pilet with a disc or is their a tool tech available? Just what some info before i ask a dealer on what they have to offer. Thanks for the time..
