Go to the courthouse of the county the seller lives in. I had to do this quite often when in business yrs ago. Then go to County Clerk's office...they will ask the name you want to look up, they will hand you the book...it's a biggie. They have to show you the book as liens are open for public scrutiny. Some people will amaze you...their equipment has liens on everything they "own" and even sometimes owe more on a machine than it's worth!
