Thanks all for your replies. I actually had only been hoping to lift a 900# bale but after a few other people saying they had lifted 1200# bales with their 9Ns we had hope for bigger than 900. Then when we couldn't lift the 700# bale that the front end lifted with log forks we thought there must be something wrong with our hydrolics. The tires are fluid filled(supposedly 500lbs per tire, wheel and all?) It lifts and lowers a back blade for plowing just fine and carries things fine on the front end. This tractor was build in 1940 and the engine purrs. What size of tractor do you recommend to haul 1200-1500# bales short distances and only lift 1-2ft off the ground. Thanks again.kat
