Surprisingly, the Chinese imports can be MUCH worse than the rest of the imports. They're getting a little better, but still "not there yet". The other brands mentioned are all Japanese, and are generally excellent quality. You should be able to get into a 30 hp for around your price. The 4WD makes them perform bigger than their HP. I've got an 18 HP JD, and have been very happy with it.
