Go to Wally World and ask for Iron Out its comes in a large white plastic bottle and is a powder. I use it on my dishwasher with no problem so its safe to use but will remove old rust right down to the shine. Put about two cups in the tank and run it hot for about 1 hour then flush to see what it did. It may take another run to get it clean. Also they a liguid in a little brown bottle called Rust remover that is stronger and will really clean up the rust on anything its left on. Walt
