All these suggestions, and nobody has mentioned the venerable Fordson Model F? That's the tractor that introduced lots of folks to "power farming"... In fact, by 1923, 75% of all tractors on American farms were Fordson F's! Trouble was, Henry Ford did the same thing with the Model F that he did with the the Model T automobile; namely, he kept basically the same design in production for way too long, and others came along with improved designs (i.e., frame-mounted cultivators and other implements) and ate his lunch. He got preoccupied with making the Model A automobile anyway, and in 1928 all of the Fordson tooling was shipped to Cork, Ireland. My 2¢ worth. -- Maine Fordson
