As for where to put the pry notch, I would recomend putting anywhere EXCEPT near the valve stem. It doesn't matter until we go to push the bead off the rim then it tears the valve stem out of the tube. (Not a problem if the tire guy is paying attention) Another good lube is vegetable cooking oil. The cheaper the better. Never use petroleum products on tires.
