Re: ozone - the difference is the location. High in the atmosphere the ozone absorbs ultraviolet radiation, freon eats up the ozone up there and allows more UV in. Ozone down at ground level is caused by the reaction of unburned hydrocarbons in the air. Down here where we live, ozone eats little holes in your lungs. If only we could move it up where it would do some good.
