The rpm will stay the same this just turns the fuel up.On your throttle linkage theirs two screws one for idle setting and one for advance or more rpm you can shorten the length that should give more rpm when you pull the throttle lever down.It will smoke more when you start it just hold the glow plugs a little longer it will clear out.If you want a pump that gives you the most rpm for that engine is a pump off a 715 301 cid combine engine 2800 to 3000rpm.
