i am member of local lions club . 2 or 3 years ago our club applied for bingo permit from state of il . when we got our permit with a letter saying state of il had learned lots of clubs that hold bingo games also sell food and drink at such things and food and drink are subject to sales tax . also fish fries fish boils ect ect are also to pay a state sales tax . the club was saying when did this happen ? we learned law has been in effect for many years but state had not pushed it as most groups are using money for community betterment . then we got new governor he promised no new taxes just increased old taxes and added new FEES on almost everything .
