Robert, the build up you witness on the points is from the points themselves. This is occurring because the rating of the condenser is incorrect for the components is your system. I am unsure about your particular machine but even most 6 volt systems have a ballast resistor and this also adds longevity to the points. If you will tell me which side of the points have the buildup (ground side or coil side) I can tell you what direction to go will the capacitance of the condenser. Do you have a voltmeter? If so, measure the voltage at the primary (switch side) of the coil with the points CLOSED and post same.
