If you have a very active pooch it just does'nt seem to be much use. Daughter has unit and has been no luck since she has done it. Dogs make a made dash and they know once across they free,then they won't come back across,train your dogs helps in some cases but I would just lay it out first and try it see if it wil even stop your pooch first,because they are not the answer in alot of cases we have found out. Some pooches the only way they stay is penned,. Been at it two years now try to train,its not going to happen thou and he is at my place now already jumped the wire
