help on starting an old iron club

hi,some of us local enthusiasts are in the process of getting an old iron club going.Putting on a hay day consisting of slow races,pulls,demos,barrel push races and possibly a squear dance has been mentioned.I was wondering if anyone who has some experience with club activities may have any suggestions as what seems to be sucessful in promoting the hobby,and possibly a few things that have been done that have since been avoided.Also,i was hoping to get a few suggestions on what activities are often done at regular meetings that keep people interested in coming back.
