The kids should be able to get social security from their mom up till or through college. Right now, they likely just need you to be there. They need something / someone stable to depend on / cling to. Sometimes, it's not what you say, it's just being there and being available. Be patient and just love them. Sometimes, it might be a tough row to row but it's not about you. Your doing it for them.
