On a standard transmission with a clutch when the clutch is starting to go bad you will feel and can hear a chatter as the clutch is engaged till it is full up to speed on both sides. Well on this as I start up (and not all the time) I will hear like that chatter for perhaps a halfdozen times, first 3 to 5 feet of movement and then will hear it no more till nest start. Could a valve be sticking that could cause this? And if so could a fluid change with a conditioner help this? I use the Lucas conditioner and it has kept the transmission in my Ford truck going for the last 6 years,had got so it would not move in one direction till I moved in the other, 1 can of the Lucas got it working for awile then started acting up again, put in anouther can and has worked for the rest of the about 6 years I have had the truck. If it is that clutch pack going bad will it do any more dammage if I drive it till it quits completly than if I do not, Cost any more to fix?
