Generators are great, but no more often than they run can sometimes be a reliability headache. We have an old 5K and a welder generator. Probably don't need both. If the power goes out, the first thing I head for is our 1500W inverter. I can always find a vehicle that will start. If we find that we are in it for the long haul, then it's time for the generators. Makes us all apprieciate what our ancestors put up with. We've got options. Prayers for Old and everyone in the ice have been said.
