Something with low power, 4 studded winter tires and some weight in the back can go almost anywhere.

I had a 97 Geo Tracker with 4 studded tires on it that was just an absolute beast in the snow and ice because it had enough weight and was low on power.
Now...unlike the guy with the Samauri...it wouldn't tow much at any sort of speed or up hills. A 2k lb load was all it wanted, and that was a struggle.
