Tim: I am a U.S.M.C. Veteran [1955-1963] and there is near never a day goes by at some point that something will cause me to think back on my Military experience. It is a proud period of my life. Of course I was a "Volunteer" fresh out of High School looking at more endless days cleaning up after the backside of some Guernsey Cow on an every day of the week basis so my volunteering was a win -win situation to me. Needless to say the first few months of training made me positive I had made a mistake but later on in hind sight,I would not have changed a single event of my Life in the "U.S.Marine Corps". If I had been on a Drafted Basis I am not so sure that my Memories would be so vivid and satisfying. The other Posts of Technology Requirements of modern day Soldiers are all true I am sure, but you must like what you are doing to have a life that has some meaning and Volunteerism is a much better approach to likeing Military Service than being Drafted. My opinion ,John , "SEMPER FI"
