Using vegetable oil in diesel engine

Greetings.

I have a small quantity of used vegetable oil from frying fish (a few jars). I"d like to add it to the diesel fuel in my tractors but I am not sure what, if anything, I need to do to it first. I can probably filter it through s cheesecloth or something to get rid of the bigger particles.

Is this OK or would I hurt the engines? Also, should I have a certain ratio of veg. oil to diesel?
