Thanks so much for the pictures. They confirm what I saw yesterday at the neighbor's house: the middle flingers are opposite one another and opposite again from the ones on the ends. Confusing, but I should be able to weld up something halfway similar. That looks like a nice spreader, by the way. I like that the gears and chains are enclosed. Much safer than the David Bradley "widow maker" design!
