OT 6.0 litre chevy knocking

I know this horse has been beaten to death but this is a little different. A valve spring broke in mine a few weeks ago and I finially got the time to fix it. And here is the kicker! The knocking went away! This motor knocked cold or hold not matter the outside temp. When it idled it knocked but after this valve spring ordeal it stopped! I don;t get it but it all quite and I like it! Shaggy
