He probably wants $3500 for the loader because the tractor isn't very saleable with out it. The loader is really worth about $2500. An early model diesel 4020 is worth around $7500 (middle of the road price) by itself, no loader. I would say $7400 for the whole package is a reasonable deal. Gives ya some money for gas anyway against the diesel. Wouldn't want a gas myself for field work but may be good for a loader tractor, the diesels aren't the easiest starting tractors in cold weather. Any used tractor is gonna need work done on it sooner or later.
