Here in the east dairy farming was predominate. Dairymen need to
grow corn which needed cultivation before herbicides were
developed. The D is not suitable for that purpose and John Deere's
tractors aimed at that market were first the GP then the A, B and G
which had adjustable wheel spaceing and attach points for
cultivating corn and other row crops.
