Aloha, My son used kerosene heaters in Japan and I warned him about carbon monoxide and he said that they all use it. I am thinking that the buildings that they use them in, are not insulated very well and is very drafty. I would think that a well insulated building wouldn't be a place to use a kerosene heater without the fumes being vented outside. One thing though, if I did use one, I would definately get a carbon monoxide alarm (more than one) monitor to be safe. Mahalo, doogdoog
