My experience----we've done some Farmalls and a couple of JD's and Fords. Hands down, no joke, based on our experience--go with a Ford N--9N, 2N 8N. Simple to work on, parts readily available and no more expensive, maybe even less expensive than other brands....Most New Holland dealers will carry what you need and our local dealer watches pirces of aftermarket guys and stays competitive.
I've never seen an old tractor I didn't like but I continue to marvel at the engineering that went into these Ford N machines. (All my remarks would apply to a Ferguson too.)
