I agree, a wide front tractor around 20 hp would probably be best. I am 16 years old now, started driving lawnmowers around the age of 7, graduated at age 10 to our MF 265 60hp tractor with loader doing light jobs with my Dad on. After I got the feel of the tractor and the basic do's and dont's, I was on my own. Have had 6+ years of driving full-size tractors with only one minor "incident". As long as your children know the basics and start off slow, they should be fine.
