my grandpa started me on a wd when i was about 9 or 10 b/c of the hand clutch and they are simple and sturdy tractors. i have started my oldest son on the old 37 wc. with a pedal extention on the clutch raking hay and occasionally pulling empty wagons. i love these tractors but i will agree with the before said wide front end being of some importance to the equasion for safety reasons if you arent working with level ground.
