So is the engine really misfiring or are you hearing a pop or sputter from the exhaust?
Does it have a good muffler or a straight pipe?
I'm assuming the engine isn't missing if it "runs like a top".
An exhaust valve may be set too tight or a cracked manifold will cause a pop or sputter.
