What to set tire width at?

What do people set their rear tire width at for parade tractors? I have an old Super c that i am restoring. But with hauling it around most trailers I am looking at are 6 foot wide.Do you just set your tires narrow to accomodate hauling? The tractor looks newer with the narrow setting and axles are out past rims but I guess that is the only solution.Any ideas as to what anyone does?
