Could be an irrate ex. I was at an auction like that once it was scary. I showed up and found out the husband was caught in bed with the neighbor's wife. I left right after that and I guess things went insanely cheap. The ironic thing was the neighbor and the ex got together and got married so I guess everybody got what they deserved. But after that of which you speak could be a scam.
