In summer 1955 Uncle Albert, age 57 and I age 15 would regularly bale and load 1000 bales a day with a NH baler, which must have been a predecessor to the one in photo. We did not have a thingie to kick the bales in the air but the shoot was set so that they came out of the baler two bales high and we went up from there. Loads always had some bales in the middle of rack that were 7 high. Loads had 113-115 bales and we blew out a lot of old car tires. We traded off on each load driving tractor and loading. This physical stuff made football easy in the fall.
