In my comment about the IHC "TA", they were a great tool when they was working. One of the biggest problems with them was that alot of drivers did not know how to use them. My grandpa replaced quite a few over his years of farming, mainly because his hired hands mistreated them, like using them to slow down before crossing a wood bridge. If properly took care of, they were pretty reliable, but the fact is they got a bad rap as years went by, and the John Deere boys capitolized on it. We cut 10 seasons with our F2 Gleaner, and got real good at setting it to the best of its ability, the matter of the fact is that the best of its ability does not match up to the superior Axial Flow.
