Stay away. I know someone with a Jetta with the 1.8T. A 2002 model, or there-a-bouts. VW's in general seem to be known for having lots of electrical gremlins. This particualr one has had its share. Most of the stuff is more annoying than serious though, like dash lights that intermittently fail. Parts are expensive, and dealers are few and far between.
