Have been told that the first mass-produced model was the International WD-40, in the mid-'30's. Visited an old gent in Saskatchewan who had about 20 of them, in various states of repair- still used them to farm, about 10 years ago. The injector pump was huge- looked like it would take 2 men and a boy to remove it. He also had 20 or 30 cars lined up on the hillside- never sold anything, just parked it in the line when it went on the fritz. He could tell you just what was wrong with each of them, some from 40 years earlier. Interesting fellow.

BTW, by "flat top" diesel I believe he meant flathead- Were there any?
