Your carb needs cleaning....not maybe, but for sure. Any time you can run with choke out..you enrichen the mix so that more fuel gets in and the air is reduced...this is the same as if it was getting enough fuel, which it's not, with the choke in. So....you're not delivering fuel throught the high speed circuit of the carb....needs to come apart and be cleaned.
