The response from Dick L works on the drives here in N C. The only way to eliminate a pothole in a stoned drive in this area is to rip up the pot hole deeper than in exists. Water gets trapped in these depressions and when you drive over them the pumping action is what causes the problem with potholes and washboarding. Always use the maximum angle permissible of the blade to work up the base and then shift to a lesser angle for final grading. Do not use a box blade for leveling as it will aggravate the wash board effect.
