HP wise the A is just a little smaller then the 300U. The A by Neb test is 38HP and the 300U is 41HP. The 300U sits lower so in the woods it might work better, plus the 300U has a wide front but if it doesn't have power steering then they are a bear to steer. As far as lugging power I think the A would out pull the 300U for a short distance.
