mr. mjbrown here has posted the most obvious answer.. i had difficulty seeing which way the flywheel went from which side of the tractor!! So, according to his post and your post, it is working the correct way but not the opposite way. I"ve personally never bothered rolling a 2cyl BACKWARDS, so i do not know if they can go backwards or not.
