How big can it pull or how big should it pull? If you were trying to win a bet it would probably pull a 40 foot field cultivator and a 15 shank chisel plow. If I wanted to use it in a variety of conditions I would lower those sizes considerably. I would go with about a 12 shank disk chisel and a 30 ft. field cultivator and a 32. ft disk. I wouldn't use over a 7-18 onland plow either. It is better to work the tractor less and have it live than to look cool trying to pull big equipment and kill it before its time. I plowed disked and field cultivated with a 2870 and a 4890 many hours with those sized implements and the tractor had all it needed behind it. Could they have pulled more. Defenitely, most of the time if the conditions allowed it. I have had the 2870 and the 4890 stopped in their tracks many times spinning out with a 7-18 IH onland plow and actually stopped in their tracks pulling a 11 shank brillion soil saver. They are big, but not unstoppable by any means. Nice rigs though if they are running right. Very enjoyable tractors to operate. Good luck.
